Oma - Basondo

There are a large number of ethnographic, cultural and artistic elements in Kortezubi, the importance of which transcend the limits of the town boundaries. Although the most interesting of these elements will be described one by one, it should be noted that there are areas of Kortezubi where the confluence of many natural and cultural elements make for a truly unique and priceless setting.

The Oma and Basondo Valleys hold close cultural and economic ties, forming a single entity where one can find: ironworks, water mills, dense woodland, prehistoric ruins, cave paintings, the painted forest of sculptor Agustin Ibarrola, and characteristic farmhouses. Of course, there is the presence of humans, ever mindful and respectful of the heritage left to them by their ancestors.
